Joe Jackson is tipping his hat to jazz legend Duke Ellington this summer with a new album called ‘The Duke’ — featuring guest turns by the likes of Iggy Pop, The Roots’ ?uestlove, Steve Vai and Sharon Jones, among others — to be followed by a 14-date U.S. tour this fall featuring his “Bigger Band.”

This fall, American Laundromat Recordings will celebrate the soundtrack to the 1984 cult classic ‘Repo Man’ with a track-by-track tribute, featuring the likes of Black Francis, Mike Watt, Matthew Sweet and Amanda Palmer and more covering songs originally recorded by Iggy Pop, Black Flag, Circle Jerks and Suicidal Tendencies.

Highlights of tonight’s ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave included a double shot of lesser-played Love and Rockets (‘An American Dream,’ ‘Sweet FA’) and Peter Murphy doing Iggy Pop ‘Fun Time’).

This week’s new releases include Record Store Day-related reissues from R.E.M., Sonic Youth and Devo, plus the expanded edition of Iggy and the Stooges’ classic ‘Raw Power,’ and a new Revolting Cocks album.
