Hüsker Dü’s posthumous live album — The Living End, recorded at various venues in October 1987 but not released until 1994 — will receive its first-ever vinyl release later this month in the form of a 180-gram audiophile pressing by the Music on Vinyl label.

Bob Mould’s gearing up to celebrate next year’s 25th anniversary of his post-Hüsker Dü solo debut Workbook in a big way, and now come details of an expanded reissue of the album — featuring a bonus live album as part of the 2CD set — as well as what’s being termed a 7-date “commemorative” tour.

Bob Mould will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his post-Hüsker Dü solo debut Workbook next year with a special performance at San Francisco’s annual Noise Pop festival, organizers announced today as they unveiled an initial lineup for the Feb. 25-March 2 fest that also includes Mark Kozelek.

Seattle’s KEXP has just shared video of a blistering, half-hour set by Bob Mould filmed by the radio station during last month’s Bumbershoot festival that finds the rocker tearing through a set comprised of three songs apiece off Sugar’s Copper Blue, his latest solo album Silver Age and Hüsker Dü’s Flip Your Wig.

Grant Hart returns this summer with his long-in-the-works The Argument, a double album based on John Milton’s epic “Paradise Lost,” on which Domino Record Co. says Hart “distills its essence into pop and rock concoctions that nimbly flit through the history of 20th century music.”

For this week’s installment of Vintage Video, one of our readers points us to a full Hüsker Dü show recorded Feb. 19, 1986, at the Sherwood Country Club in Indianapolis that recently has surfaced on YouTube via uploader oppositecar. As you can see from the video posted above, it’s not great visually.

Gorman Bechard, director of the 2011 documentary “Color Me Obsessed: A Film About The Replacements,” is putting the finishing touches on a new film called “Every Everything” about former Hüsker Dü drummer, singer and songwriter Grant Hart — and he’s once again turning to fans for financial support for the project.
