Dexys — Kevin Rowland’s relaunched and newly shortened Dexys Midnight Runners — today debuted ‘Nowhere is Home,’ the first track to be released off the band’s forthcoming ‘One Day I’m Going to Soar,; on U.K. radio, and then promptly made the song available as a free download.
Dexys Midnight Runners — now going by the shortened band name Dexys — will celebrate the release of ‘One Day I’m Going to Soar,’ the band’s first album in 27 years, by performing it in its entirety at a pair of ‘theatrical shows’ in Glasgow and Dublin this May, the group tweeted today.
Frontman Kevin Rowland this week announced that the reactivated Dexys Midnight Runners — the New Wave act still best known for its 1982 smash ‘Come On Eileen’ — will release its first new album in 27 years this June, a record titled ‘One Day I’m Going to Soar’ that will be put out under the shortened band name Dexys.
