In their first television appearance in 24 years, The Cars dropped by ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ on Tuesday night to perform ‘Blue Tip’ off just-released comeback album ‘Move Like This’ as well as 1979 smash ‘Let’s Go.’

The surviving members of The Cars — singer/keyboardist Ric Ocasek, guitarist Elliot Easton, drummer David Robinson and keyboardist Greg Hawkes, who also is filling in on bass for the late Benjamin Orr — kicked off their reunion tour in Seattle last night, performing their first concert in 24 years.

It’s been a long wait — some 24 years, in fact — but the surviving members of The Cars are back with a new album, ‘Move Like This,’ and RollingStone.com has an exclusive stream in advance of next week’s release.

Ending ever-increasing fan speculation, the surviving members of The Cars today announced their first tour in nearly a quarter century, a short North American trek that will see the reunited band hitting theaters and large clubs in 10 cities this May.

The surviving members of The Cars today revealed what appears to be the cover of ‘Move Like This,’ the reunited band’s first new album since 1987’s ‘Door to Door.’

The Cars continue to slowly reveal their reunion via Facebook, first posting a photo of the band in the studio last summer, then proceeding with short teasers of new music, the second of which, a 56-second video clip of a new tune called ‘Sad Song,’ was posted yesterday.

The surviving members of The Cars revealed their reunion this past summer by simply posting a photo of the band in the studio on Facebook; now they follow that up with the first musical proof they’re back together: a 1:13-long video clip of the new song ‘Blue Tip.’

Fans of revered New Wave rockers The Cars are abuzz about a possible reunion — the first since 1987 swan song ‘Door to Door’ — after a new photo of the band’s surviving members playing together was posted without explanation on the group’s Facebook page.
