Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds stopped by Maida Vale Studios this past week to play a three-song set for the BBC Radio 2 Piano Room series.

Rhino Records this fall will release what’s being billed as the “definitive edition” of New Order’s Power, Corruption & Lies, reissuing the 1983 album in a five-disc, multi-format box set that will include 13 previously unreleased tracks from the group’s writing sessions and BBC appearances. New Order will release a new vinyl pressing of the group’s 1982 studio session with legendary BBC broadcaster John Peel on Record Store Day this year, complete with what is being advertised as a new sleeve created by the band’s longtime graphic designer Peter Saville. Full details right here.

An XTC fan in the U.K. has launched a petition to convince the BBC to air a new documentary about the band called “This Is Pop” following reports the British television broadcaster has passed on showing Special Treats Productions’ film. By Saturday, the petition had collected more than 1,600 digital signatures.

On New Year’s Day, the UK’s BBC Four aired a new 75-minute documentary called “The Clash: New Year’s Day ’77” put together by filmmaker Julien Temple and built around his own, previously unseen footage of the of the band performing on Jan. 1, 1977, at the Roxy club.
