Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark returns this fall with ‘History of Modern,’ the reunited act’s first new album in 14 years — and in this short video, co-founders Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys discuss their comeback bid and offer a taste of their new music.

The surviving members of Factory Records post-punk outfit Section 25 next month will release ‘Retrofit,’ a remix disc — completed before the untimely death last February of frontman Larry Cassidy — that features 10 of the band’s favorite tracks ‘remade and remodeled using new technology.’

As teased last week, famed producer Trevor Horn today announced he’s reuniting The Buggles ‘for their first ever full live gig,’ a front-to-back, one-off performance of the band’s 1980 debut album ‘The Age of Plastic’ at a yet-to-be-revealed London venue on Sept. 28.

This week’s new releases include a pair of EPs from Killing Joke and the Peter Hook-led Freebass that already were issued online earlier this year, plus a new digital single from Tears For Fears’ Curt Smith.

This week’s ‘Dark Wave’ on Sirius XM’s 1st Wave features many of the usual suspects — although not the oft-repeated Mission U.K. — plus some choice cuts from the likes of the Cocteau Twins (‘In the Gold Dust Rush’), The Teardrop Explodes (‘When I Dream’) and Bigod 20 (‘Carpe Diem’).

Next month’s 20th anniversary reissue of Morrissey’s ‘Bona Drag’ will be accompanied by the re-release of ‘Everyday is Like Sunday’ with a new set of B-sides — including the much-coveted ‘November the Second,’ a long-unreleased alternate mix of ‘November Spawned a Monster.’

Andy Rourke of The Smiths is no longer part of the Manchester triple-bass supergroup Freebass, which also features Peter Hook of New Order and Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield of The Stone Roses, according to a note posted on the band’s website.
