Reunited British indie-pop combo The Primitives just announced they’re releasing a new covers album in April, and now they get the cover treatment as Belle and Sebastian give their classic 1988 single ‘Crash’ a leisurely makeover. Check out the new version here, and watch the original video, too.

Steve Strange, frontman of ‘Fade to Grey’ hitmakers Visage and founder of the New Romantic hub The Blitz in London, is gearing up for a busy 2012, with a debut album due next month from electronic dance project Detroit Starzz and plans for a fourth Visage album — that group’s first in 28 years — to be released in May.

The Primitives today announced the release of their first full-length record in 21 years, a 14-track ‘concept covers album’ called ‘Echoes and Rhymes’ that will ‘revisit songs from semi-obscure bands from the ’60s with women lead singers’ in a variety of sonic styles.

Echo & The Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch has scrubbed a short U.S. solo tour planned for late March — which was to have featured just six concerts in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York — although his management told at least one of the clubs that the dates could be rescheduled for May.
