In August 2010, Beggars Archive announced a series of This Mortal Coil reissues, including a CD box set, new vinyl editions of the collective’s three albums and a Blu-ray disc that was to feature all three records in high-def stereo. Nearly two years later, the box set and vinyl reissues are out, but not the Blu-ray.

Beacon Audio recently launched a new video interview series and one of their latest installments features Dave Wakeling of The English Beat, who, in this five-minute clip, discusses the longevity of the Beat, how he learned to play guitar completely wrong (he’s right-handed, but plays as a lefty) and his favorite part of a concert.

Plans for a career-spanning box set from Australian rockers Midnight Oil — which guitarist Jim Moginie last year promised ‘is going to be amazing in its depth and presentation of the band’s career, with rare recordings and so far unseen and unheard film and music’ — apparently are ‘back on hold’ as the band re-evaluates the release.

The Specials next month will release a 26-track live album dubbed ‘More… Or Less: The Specials Live’ in both 2CD and 2LP formats, collecting “the best of the best tracks” from U.K. and European dates on the band’s 2011 reunion tour, EMI Catalogue announced this morning.

The new Duran Duran concert CD/DVD/Blu-ray ‘A Diamond in the Mind’ is out this week in the U.K. and arrives next week in the U.S., and while the band put out a fairly uneventful video teaser back in April, here’s the first full track issued from the live film: a performance of classic hit ‘Planet Earth.’
