Pylon Records this month will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Nitzer Ebb’s original Basic Pain Procedure demo tape by releasing it on CD for the first time ever — and reissuing it in its original cassette form — and packaging the eight-song set with a rare live recording from 1983.

On Friday at its Solid Sound festival in Massachusetts, Wilco played a 27-song all-request set that featured exactly one Wilco song… and 26 covers by artists ranging from Television and Bob Dylan to even Daft Punk — not to mention The Replacements’ “Color Me Impressed” with Tommy Stinson.

The Violent Femmes are taking a somewhat low-key approach to their recent reunion, having followed up their appearance at Coachella this past April with only a few more scheduled, mostly festival-type shows. But the band has just announced a concert in New York’s Central Park.
