As The Afghan Whigs prepare to release their second post-reunion album, In Spades, on Friday, the Greg Dulli-helmed outfit this week announced a 28-city North American tour in support of the record this September and October. The Whigs also have released a music video for In Spades track “Oriole.”

Trawling through the vast pixel mine that is YouTube, we recently stumbled across this short, odd MTV promo from 1988 that appears to be filmed at a college radio station, and concludes, after a series of fly-by imagery, with a long-haired gentleman sagely proclaiming, “When I’m an old person, I think I’ll still be listening to R.E.M.”

The Waterboys will release their 12th album, a double record entitled Out of All This Blue, in September, a collection of 23 new songs that bandleader Mike Scott says show influences of soul, hip-hop (yes, hip-hop), R&B, funk and swamp-rock. Scott also confirmed The Waterboys will tour the U.S. in 2018.
