The highly anticipated XTC  documentary “This Is Pop” — the subject of a petition earlier this year to convince the BBC to air it after the network allegedly passed on the program — will, in fact, be seen on TV in the UK this fall: Sky Arts is set to broadcast the film in October. The reunited Midnight Oil is back in the U.S. for a short second round of dates on its Great Circle 2017 world tour, a run of shows that brought the band to New York City’s Terminal 5 on Aug. 21 — a date that would have been the late Joe Strummer’s 65th birthday. The Meat Puppets recently were inducted into the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame, and, to mark the honor bestowed by their home state, original drummer Derrick Bostrom joined brothers Curt and Cris Kirkwood on stage for the first time in nearly 22 years. See video of their reunion here.

Here we go again: Another week, another previously unreleased live version of a track off The Smiths’ 1986 classic The Queen is Dead. This week it’s “Cemetry Gates,” recorded Oct. 30, 1986, at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester during the band’s second leg in support of that album.
