To celebrate the Record Store Day release of the “Industrial Accident: The Story of Wax Trax! Records” documentary and its soundtrack, Vans will sponsor a half-dozen screening events in North America that will include a panel discussion and a “Wax Trax!-era” live set by Ministry.

After two consecutive summers of touring with Echo & The Bunnymen, the Violent Femmes will mix it up this year and head out on the road in May for a short co-headlining tour with X. The trek opens May 5 in San Diego and runs through May 17 in St. Louis, Mo., with a few Violent Femmes-only shows on either side.

Drummer Andy Anderson, who joined The Cure after Lol Tolhurst moved to keyboards and played on the band’s 1984 album The Top, revealed on Facebook this week that he has Stage 4 cancer, a terminal diagnosis that there is “no way of returning back from.” Read his full statement here.
