Mike Peters will tease the upcoming album by The Alarm with a special 8-song EP to be released for Record Store Day that will include three songs off the new record that’s expected this summer as well as a collaboration with Billy Duffy of The Cult on the song “Blood Red Viral Black.” Full details here.

The full list of this year’s Record Store Day releases is expected to be revealed on Tuesday, but sharp-eyed fans of The Cure have spotted evidence that this year’s titles will include a vinyl reissue of 1990 remix album Mixed Up and something called Torn Down: Mixed Up Extras 2018. 4AD this March continues its Cocteau Twins reissue series with new repressings of the dream-pop masters’ second and third albums — 1983’s Head Over Heels and 1984’s Treasure — on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl and in “digital HD audio” versions for the download enthusiasts out there.

Frankie Rose, a former member of indie-pop groups including Vivian Girls and Dum Dum Girls, has recorded a front-to-back cover of The Cure’s 1980 sophomore album Seventeen Seconds that will be made available next month to members of the Sounds Delicious vinyl subscription service. Rhino Records’ vinyl reissue campaign for The Sisters of Mercy continues with an expanded 4LP box set of the band’s 1992 compilation Some Girls Wander By Mistake, which finds that album spread over two records, and includes bonus 12-inch singles of “Temple of Love” and “Under the Gun.”
