The reunion of The Three O’Clock hit national TV last night, as the Paisley Underground favorites stopped by “Conan” to perform their 1982 classic “With a Cantaloupe Girlfriend” in advance of the band’s appearances at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this weekend and next.
Ian McCulloch has made no secret over the years of the fact that he considers “The Killing Moon” to be “the greatest song ever written,” and, in this new video for the NME, he explains how the song was born, via a backwards David Bowie chord sequence and some divine lyrical intervention.
Here’s a fun find by our friends at Chain of Flowers: Video footage of The Cure’s Robert Smith hamming it up for what presumably is a commercial of some sort by Chilean promoters to sell tickets to the band’s concert this weekend in Santiago. The Cure is slated to play Asunción, Paraguay, tonight.
Visage — best remembered for its classic 1980 single “Fade to Grey” — return next month with Hearts and Knives, the band’s fourth album and first in 29 years. The record is preceded by lead single “Shameless Fashion,” which you can download for free on the group’s Facebook page and/or stream here.
Depeche Mode today premiered a live in-the-studio performance video for Delta Machine track “Soft Touch/Raw Nerve,” a clip that appears to have been filmed at the same time as the second video released for the album’s lead single, “Heaven.” Check out the new performance footage of “Soft Touch/Raw Nerve.”
