The Pet Shop Boys this morning announced they’ll release ‘Elysium’ — their 11th studio album, and first since 2009’s ‘Yes’ — this September, and are previewing the release with a ‘short film’ for downtempo album track ‘Invisible,’ which you can watch here. The film made by Los Angeles artist and filmmaker Brian Bress.

We’ve got a rare double milestone today, as not one but two members of the Pixies — bassist Kim Deal and guitarist Joey Santiago — celebrate their birthdays (she’s 51 and he’s 47). We mark the occasion with this complete 29-song ‘Trompe le Monde’-era set filmed on June 26, 1991, in London.

The Stone Roses — Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary “Mani” Mounfield and Alan “Reni” Wren — opened their first tour since 1996 with a pair of full-length concerts Friday and Saturday night at Club Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Spain. Danish indie-pop combo Efterklang premiered its forthcoming album ‘Piramida’ by performing it in full at the Sydney Opera House backed by a symphony orchestra and a new touring drummer: Budgie, of Siouxsie & The Banshees and The Creatures, who will join the band on a series of fall European dates.
