With their new album, ‘Choice of Weapon,’ out Tuesday and a North American tour slated to open Friday in San Diego, The Cult stopped by ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ last night to perform one of the show’s outdoor concerts. Paul Weller’s only playing a handful of North American dates in support of his newly released ‘Sonik Kicks’ album, but he did manage to stop by ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ last night to perform, on air, that record’s lead single ‘That Dangerous Age,’ plus a web-only run through The Jam classic ‘That’s Entertainment.’

Dexys — Kevin Rowland‘s relaunched and renamed Dexys Midnight Runners — appeared on BBC chat show “Later… with Jools Holland” on Tuesday night, performing “Free,” off the forthcoming ‘One Day I’m Going to Soar,’ as we well as the needs-no-introduction “Come On Eileen.”

With Squeeze, er, squeezing in some U.S. dates between and around the band’s appearances at the two-weekend Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, the group also managed to fit in an appearance on the ‘Ellen’ daytime talk show yesterday (‘I’ve loved their music for a long time,’ Ellen Degeneres says).

Paul Weller dropped by BBC’s ‘Later… with Jools Holland’ last night to perform two tracks — ‘The Attic’ and ‘Kling I Klang’ — off his just-released new solo album ‘Sonik Kicks,’ both of which you can see via the clips posted here. Weller is due on these shores later next month to play a pair of gigs in New York City and one in Toronto.

Pulp kicked off its first trip to the U.S. since 1998 with a performance on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ last night, trotting out Britpop national anthem ‘Common People’ for broadcast and then playing ‘Like a Friend’ — the band’s contribution to the soundtrack of the 1998 film version of ‘Great Expectations’ — for the show’s website.
