The launch of Depeche Mode’s new album ‘Delta Machine’ just moved up a two weeks, with Thursday’s announcement that synthpop legends will kick off the 2013 season of the “Live on Letterman” concert series by performing material from the new album plus classic at New York’s Ed Sullivan Theater on March 11.
Naturally, late night host Jimmy Kimmel took the opportunity last night to poke a little fun at Morrissey after the ex-Smiths singer canceled his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” by saying he could not appear on the same program as the “animal serial killers” from the A&E reality series “Duck Dynasty.”

With his rescheduled two-month U.S. tour set to kick off Wednesday night in Long Island, N.Y., Morrissey dropped by “The Late Show with David Letterman” tonight to perform “Action Is My Middle Name,” one of a handful of new and as-yet-unreleased songs the singer debuted last year and continues to perform on tour.
Morrissey will kick off his rescheduled U.S. tour next week with a live performance on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” stopping by the talk show on Tuesday, according to CBS, before opening the two-month, coast-to-coast trek the following night in Long Island, New York.
