Classic synthpop duo Erasure — Andy Bell and Vince Clarke — this week announced plans to release their 17th studio album this spring. The 10-track World Be Gone, due out May 19 on Mute Records, will be the group’s first new album since 2014’s The Violet Flame.

Peter Murphy will chronicle last year’s Stripped Tour — which, as the the trek’s title suggests, featured stripped-down performances of his solo material and Bauhaus classics — with a 12-track live record this spring called Bare-Boned and Sacred. The album is due out March 10.

Lloyd Cole will follow up his 2015 box set collecting his work with The Commotions with a new six-CD package that pulls together his first four solo albums, a “lost” fifth solo album that assembles material from other sources and a disc of 20 previously unreleased demos.

Jangle-pop legends The Feelies return later this month with their first new album in six years and sixth LP overall, an 11-song set titled In Between that’s preceded by the track “Gone, Gone, Gone” — which you can stream here. The New Jersey-based act will release the new album Feb. 24 on Bar/None Records.

The Jesus and Mary Chain are still more than a month away from the release of their first new record in 18 years, but the band has now released a second single to whet fans’ appetites: “Always Sad,” a three-minute slice of ’60s-styled pop featuring guest vocalist Bernadette Denning singing along with Jim Reid.

Electronic-music giants Depeche Mode have revealed the full details of their upcoming 14th studio album, Spirit, which will be released March 17 in standard and deluxe formats, and is preceded by the just-released single “Where’s the Revolution” — which you can stream here.

Mark E. Smith’s iconic and seemingly unstoppable post-punk act The Fall this May will release its 31st studio album, an 11-song collection called Sub-Lingual Tablet that will feature different mixes on the CD and vinyl releases, according to Cherry Red Records. The album is due out May 25.
