U2 today formally announced the release of the band’s next album, Songs of Experience, a 13-song companion to 2014’s Songs of Innocence — a record that will see a fairly conventional release rather than be forced into every iTunes user’s library like its predecessor. Richard Hell and the Voidoids’ 1977 debut Blank Generation — a landmark chapter in the history of New York City punk — will receive an expanded 40th anniversary reissue next month, with the original record paired with a disc of previously unreleased studio takes and live tracks. The Ramones’ deluxe reissue campaign continues this fall with the 3CD/1LP expansion of the punk icons’ third album, Rocket to Russia, that will include two different mixes of the album, a host of unreleased studio recordings and a previously unissued live album recorded in 1977. It’s not the new album Tears For Fears long have been working on, but the duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith today debuted their first original song in 13 years, a track called “I Love You But I’m Lost” that will be one of two new songs on the group’s upcoming greatest-hits disc.

Nearly four decades’ worth of singles — both A-sides and their accompanying B-sides — by the assorted lineups of Mark E. Smith’s pioneering post-punk outfit The Fall will be collected on a new 7-disc, 117-track box set from Cherry Red Records this November. See the full tracklist right here.
