The classic third album from Matthew Sweet — 1991’s Girlfriend, featuring the twin guitar attack of Robert Quine and Television’s Richard Lloyd — will be reissued on 180-gram vinyl this fall by Plain Recordings in what’s being billed as the record’s first time back on 12-inch since its initial release.

Morrissey’s previously announced 20th anniversary reissue of his fourth solo album, 1994’s Vauxhall and I, will not feature a tweaked tracklist — as some of the singer’s re-releases have included — but will come with a bonus CD or download of a concert recorded in London on Feb. 27, 1995.

With the release next week of The Mighty Lemon Drops’ new Uptight: The Early Recordings 1985/1986 compilation, Cherry Red Records today debuted one of the set’s previously unreleased tracks: a demo recording of Happy Head single “My Biggest Thrill” made during a July 1986 session.

Acclaimed if overlooked U.K. postpunk act The Sound will be the subject of a new box set next month from Demon Music Group that will collect expanded editions of the band’s first three albums, released between 1980 and 1982, along with a fourth disc featuring two BBC live concerts recorded in 1981 and 1985.

Morrissey will follow up his just-released reissue of 1992’s Your Arsenal with a new remastered edition of that album’s follow-up — Vauhxall and I, released exactly 20 years ago today — on June 2, the singer announced today via fansite True To You. The album is remastered by Bill Inglot.

U.K. postpunk act Ski Patrol next month will release a new anthology collecting the group’s recorded output from 1979 to 1981, a 14-track collection that will include their singles, previously unreleased mixes and songs from their final studio session, their John Peel radio session and more.

Cherry Red Records this week revealed the final tracklist for its deluxe-edition reissue of the NME’s legendary C86 cassette, which finds the original 22-song indie-pop compilation now expanded into a 3CD set — up from a planned two-disc collection — that will feature 72 total tracks.

Pulp’s 1995 Britpop masterpiece, Different Class, will receive its first-ever U.S. vinyl pressing this summer when Plain Recordings releases a new 180-gram pressing of the Mercury Prize-winning album, the label announced today. No release date has yet been announced, and the pressing will not include bonus material.

Siouxsie and the Banshees will commemorate “Hong Kong Garden” next month with a double 7-inch reissue of the single that will include the original A- and B-sides and the version from Sofia Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette” film and the recording of “Voices” from 1984’s The Thorn EP.

Soundgarden will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its blockbuster album Superunknown this year with an ambitious reissue project that begins on Record Store Day with a collection of five limited-edition 10-inch singles, this is followed in June by 2CD and 2LP reissues, plus a monster 5CD “super deluxe edition.”

Back in 2010, Andy Partridge announced that XTC’s 1986 album Skylarking was being reissued “as it was intended to sound, but never has due to human error” — a new double-vinyl pressing that corrected the sound polarity that had been reversed on all prior releases of the album.

Originally released in 1993, Star — the debut album from ex-Throwing Muses member Tanya Donelly’s band Belly — will receive its first-ever American vinyl release later this year when Plain Recordings reissues the title on 180-gram vinyl, the label announced on Facebook.
