Another great piece of video from Seattle’s KEXP this week: This time it’s a half-hour set from Dinosaur Jr recorded at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, Ore., on Sept. 8 during MusicfestNW. As you can see from the setlist, the trio blasts its way through five classic tracks, culminating in a run through Green Mind opener “The Wagon.”
During the Bumbershoot music festival in Seattle this past Labor Day weekend, hometown heroes Mudhoney stopped by KEXP’s “music lounge” at the Eve Alvord Theater to pound through a glorious 9-song, 30-minute set that the radio station has kindly posted in full on YouTube.
As they near the end of their summer run of European festivals, The Cure tonight plays the U.K.’s venerable Reading Festival — exactly 33 years to the day since Robert Smith and Co. last played the festival. To mark the occasion, we present this vintage tape of The Cure’s 1979 set at Reading.
The Dead Milkmen recently announced a pair of October shows — a festival appearance in upstate New York followed by a Halloween bash in their hometown of Philadelphia — and revealed that the band is studio-bound to work on new music, perhaps a follow-up to 2011’s ‘The King In Yellow,’ the band’s first album in 15 years.

The reactivated My Bloody Valentine will follow up its trio of dates in Japan by headlining All Tomorrow’s Parties’ just-announced I’ll Be Your Mirror Melbourne festival next February, marking Kevin Shields and Co.’s first Australian concert in more than 20 years.
The House of Love — who have been largely dormant following a couple years’ worth of activity surrounding the release of 2005 reunion album ‘Days Run Away’ — returned to the stage Friday night for the first time in four years, performing at the Off Festival in Katowice, Poland.
