Jangle-pop legends The Feelies return later this month with their first new album in six years and sixth LP overall, an 11-song set titled In Between that’s preceded by the track “Gone, Gone, Gone” — which you can stream here. Legendary post-punk act Wire will open its 40th anniversary celebrations this year with the release of the band’s 15th studio album, Silver/Lead, which is preceded by the single “Short Elevated Period” — and you can stream that track here.

The Dead Milkmen are offering fans a look inside the recording of their new song “Prisoner’s Cinema” via Weathervane Music’s “Shaking Through” series of short documentaries, which are designed to illuminate the “vision and process of recording music.” Plus, they’re offering a free download of the finished product.
On May 5, Wayne Hussey, frontman of The Mission, will release a 2DVD/1CD set Songs of Candlelight & Razorblades Live that chronicles his tour last year in support of his latest solo effort, and he’s teasing the upcoming project with a live stream of one of its tracks: a live cover of George Michael’s “Careless Whisper.”
On tour last year, Johnny Marr introduced a surprise to his encore set: a cover of Depeche Mode’s 1993 single “I Feel You.” Now, for Record Store Day, Marr is releasing a studio version of that cover as a limited-edition 7-inch single, backed by a live cover of The Smiths’ “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want.”
The Violent Femmes are back with their first new music in 15 years — and first recordings with new drummer Brian Vigilone — as the band prepares to release a new vinyl EP titled Happy New Year on Record Store Day, a release that’s been preceded by the debut online of the song “Love Love Love Love Love.”
