Contemporary indie acts such as Ted Leo, St. Vincent and Dan Deacon will cover the music of their predecessors at this May’s Our Band Could Be Your Concert, a 10th anniversary celebration of Michael Azerrad’s ’80s underground bible ‘Our Band Could Be Your Life’ and a tribute to the bands that book chronicled.

The long-in-the-works autobiography by Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould — titled ‘See a Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody’ — is scheduled to be published June 15 by Little, Brown and Company.

After some delay, the 33⅓ book series — pocket-sized titles that dissect one classic album at a time — will publish its much-anticipated title on Nine Inch Nails’ 1989 debut ‘Pretty Hate Machine’ in March.

The editor of Smiths Indeed — the classic fanzine published from 1986 to 1989 and sold at The Smiths’ ‘The Queen Is Dead’ shows in the UK — is reprinting the full set of 12 issues in a limited-edition run for the second time.

Esteemed UK publishing house Faber & Faber has posted “An Open Letter to Morrissey” on its blog, imploring the former Smiths singer to not only complete his long-discussed autobiography but let the company publish it — noting that, “History demands it; destiny commands it.”
