The Human League has set a belated U.S. release date next month for its first album in a decade — ‘Credo,’ which arrived in the U.K. this past spring — and has announced a 17-date North American tour this September that will see the act pairing up with Men Without Hats and The B-52s.

The Wedding Present’s 2005 tour of North America in support of that year’s ‘Take Fountain’ album is the subject of a new 139-minute concert film called ‘Drive’ that will be released on DVD in the U.S. next week and in the U.K. later this year.

This week’s episode of Slicing Up Eyeballs on Strangeways Radio featured brand-new music from Paul Weller, Billy Bragg and Meat Puppets, plus old favorites by Love Tractor, Camper Van Beethoven, The Sisters of Mercy, Galaxie 500, Midnight Oil and The Chameleons.

With its massive 20th anniversary reissue approaching in September, Nirvana’s landmark 1991 album ‘Nevermind’ receives a track-by-track remake courtesy of Spin, which is offering a free download of the project via the magazine’s Facebook page.

Modfather Paul Weller unexpectedly announced a new non-album single on Monday, a dancey tune called ‘Starlite’ that can be streamed here and will be available next month as both an iTunes download bundle and a 12-inch single.

Twenty years ago today, the Perry Farrell-spawned Lollapalooza festival — which, in retrospect, joins Nevermind as perhaps the best historical encapsulation of ‘the year punk broke’ — made its debut in the sun-baked Arizona desert with performances by Nine Inch Nails, Living Colour, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Jane’s Addiction.
