American Laundromat Records has enlisted The Wedding Present, Built to Spill’s Doug Martsch, Throwing Muses co-founder Tanya Donelly, Telekinesis and Stars to contribute covers of more than 20 classic songs by The Smiths for a new tribute album to be released this December.

Modern English last month mounted a short tour of the southeastern U.S. — mostly within Florida, in fact — and now you can watch one of those concerts in full, thanks to Florida’s True Marketing, which made this 56-minute film of the band’s Sept. 21 performance at The Abbey in Orlando.

The Stone Roses — Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary “Mani” Mounfield and Alan “Reni” Wren — this morning announced they are reuniting for the first time since the mid-’90s to play two hometown concerts next June in Manchester followed by a world tour — and they’re writing new songs.

The new Jane’s Addiction album ‘The Great Escape Artist’ arrives in stores today in the U.S., and to mark the occasion, the band is offering up the record’s opening track — the throbbing rocker ‘Underground’ — as a free download via Lollapalooza’s website. Get it here.

This past week, Bob Mould, Throwing Muses and Dead Milkmen headlined the 2011 Athens PopFest, and thanks to YouTube user MisterLettuce, we can share video of their full sets — plus what may just be the highlight, the Milkmen covering local heroes Pylon with that group’s lead singer.

With their 11th album arriving next week, electro-industrial icons Skinny Puppy offer up the first taste of the record via a stream of the song ‘Village.’ The track, which premiered at RevolverMag.com last week, can be heard here.
