The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020 will include pioneering synthpop outfit turned stadium rockers Depeche Mode alongside Nine Inch Nails, Whitney Houston, The Notorious B.I.G., T. Rex and The Doobie Brothers, the organization announced this morning. Full details right here.

The House of Love will return to North America this May for the first time in nearly 30 years, playing an 11-date tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its second self-titled studio album, the so-called “Butterfly album” that marked the band’s first inroads in the U.S. Full dates right here.

Omnivore Recordings this spring will finish its Game Theory reissue campaign by releasing a new collection of almost entirely unreleased material recorded by the jangle-pop outfit’s final lineup in 1989 and 1990, when late frontman Scott Miller brought on board Michael Quercio of the recently broken-up The Three O’Clock.

British musician/producer Rob Marshall has tapped Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan to sing “Shock Collar,” a shimmering guitar rocker that appears on the forthcoming self-titled debut album from Marshall’s guest-laden project Humanist. Check out the track right here.

Ministry will celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste this summer by recreating that album’s famed tour, enlisting original opener KMFDM and fellow heavyweight Front Line Assembly — and possibly a chained-link fence — for the Industrial Strength Tour. Post-punk legends Wire will release their 17th studio album — a nine-song collection called Mind Hive — later this month, and they’re previewing the effort with a pair of new songs off the record: “Cactused” and “Primed & Ready,” both of which can be streamed right here.

The reunited Boomtown Rats have debuted the first track off the Bob Geldof-led band’s first new album in 36 years,  the very catchy “Trash Glam Baby,” which you can stream in full right here, and which serves as the first taste of the forthcoming Citizens of Boomtown LP. Full details here.

The reunion of goth-rock legends Bauhaus continues to expand beyond the three shows the band played in Hollywood, with the announcement on Friday of a third 2020 date, this time in México City, between previously announced concerts in London and New York City. Full details right here.

Morrissey this spring will follow up last year’s California Son covers record with his 13th studio album, an 11-song collection titled I Am Not a Dog on a Chain that is preceded by lead single “Bobby, Don’t You Think You Know,” which features vocal contributions from R&B singer Thelma Houston.
