This month we bring you the third premiere in our series of archival videos from Wuxtry Records in Athens, Ga., and it’s another flashback to February 1981 at Atlanta’s 688 Club. This time it’s a full 70-minute set from Athens post-punk/new wave act The Method Actors, filmed a week after the R.E.M. set that kicked off this series.

Mike Scott of The Waterboys revealed on Twitter this week that he’s at work compiling a 7-disc box set of material — “114 tracks and counting,” featuring multiple takes of about 88 different songs — recorded during the sessions for the band’s classic 1988 album ‘Fisherman’s Blues’ that’s due for release later in this year.

New Wave star Adam Ant’s comeback continues this spring with the release of a documentary titled “The Blue Black Hussar,” which promises to chronicle the singer’s “brave return from exile” following a mental breakdown. Above, you can check out a short trailer for the film (via Louder Than War).

The Primitives today released a new single — it’s out digitally now in the U.K., and will be followed by a limited-edition 7-inch in the U.S. and Europe next month — called “Lose the Reason,” and you can hear the track right now via its just-debuted music video. The song arrives in the U.S. on 7-inch on March 4.

Echo & The Bunnymen spinoff Poltergeist — an instrumental trio that reunites guitarist Will Sergeant with former bassist and founding member Les Pattinson — today debuted one of the tracks off the band’s upcoming debut album Your Mind Is A Box (Let Us Fill It With Wonder). It’s still two weeks until once and future(?) Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore releases the self-titled debut album from his new band Chelsea Light Moving, but you can go ahead and listen to the whole thing now after it premiered late last night on NPR Music. Primal Scream today debuted the first single off the band’s upcoming 10th studio album ‘More Light,’ a sax-fueled rocker called “2013” that comes with a pretty creepy video — which you can see here — that features pinned moths, tied-up people and masked make-out sessions. The full album is due out May 6 in the U.K.
