“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

I have a rather obscure request from a band I absolutely love that should’ve been huge and, that is Mary My Hope. Their album Museum came out when I was a senior in high school and I wore it out. I was thinking the tracks I’m Not Alone or Suicide King. Keep up the great job. Thanks

  5. Hey Matt, I loved listening to the surprise David Bowie entry tonight.

I’d love to hear Acid Rain by Model/Actriz on one of these future communions!

  6. Good show this week, especially the midsection of hour two.

A humble request for the Halloween show in a few weeks: the Peel session version of Nick Cave & The Cavemen’s “I Put a Spell on You”. An excellent cover, perfect to ease spooky season out.

A sincere hope this comment finds you well.

  7. Hi Matt, Any chance we can add “The Width and the Height” off of the RSD release of Marty Wilson-Piper’s In Reflection in a future show?
    Thanks.

  8. Simple Minds – Premonition

  9. And good day to you Sir Matt of the Knight of the Dark Wave Clan! Excellent program as per usual. Thank you for my Cult request!! I’ll make sure to let you all know how they are live! Since Halloween is right around the corner I’ve got some possible suggestions for next time:

    Lush – Undertow (Spooky Remix)
My Bloody Valentine – Off Your Face
    Moev – Crucify Me

    Thanks again as always!!!!! 。◕‿◕。

  10. Hour 2 for the win! Holy smokes what a show from start to finish. Loved hearing two Factory records bands back to back, that was sweet. Thanks for playing my Rudimentary Peni request, and apologies to John Lydon and Joe Strummer.

Here’s my request for the Halloween extravaganza: “Horror Business” by Misfits.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  11. Hello Matt – We just saw the Front Line Assembly show in Michigan last night and would like to dedicate “Provision” to my wife’s brother John, who passed away late last year. He was a huge F.L.A. fan and would have loved this tour! Thanks in advance.

  12. Great show – loved hearing that Tackhead track and I gotta do a deeper dive into March Violets – good stuff.

Looking forward to the Halloween show!!!

  13. Great start to October!

Here are some requests for the Halloween show –

The Gun Club – Like Calling Up Thunder (love the imagery of jack-o’-lanterns and ghosts in that song)
Pixies – Gouge Away (album or possibly one of the live versions)

    Thanks!

  14. Hey Matt! great show last night. I loved hearing The Cure. I remember a few years back you did a special edition episode of songs from The Cure.

  16. Great show as usual.
Do not think I have ever heard the Replacements on Darkwave.
The Ledge or My Little Problem(with Johnette) would be great

    • Not sure if The Replacements are considered Dark Wave…but I will gladly second the request! There’s something melancholy about many of their songs…

  17. Dark Wave continues to be the highlight of my Sirius XM subscription. Another great show as always. Would you consider This Mortal Coil’s cover of “Not Me” for a future episode? Thanks and keep up the good work!

  18. Concrete Blonde – Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) [FRENCH VERSION] (1990) Apple Music
Nature And Organisation – Obsession Flowers As Torture (1994) Apple Music

  19. Greetings Matt!

Very nice Live Cure selection… LOVE it!
Also, sooo cool that you queued up Tackhead Sound System! Maybe next we’ll encounter Gary Clail’s Barmy Army!? On-U all the way haha… Never a dull moment here on SXM Dark Wave, that much is for sure! Love *that* even more!

Switching gears completely, as it is now October – I’ll request some extended Gitane Demone!

    1983 // Christian Death

    Cheers!

  20. Nice to go out with Japan, but I have to give it to Hour 1 this week. The Concrete Blonde, Damned, and Bowie cuts were all hard to beat.

Would like to request Iron Curtain for an upcoming episode please. Maybe “The Burning”, “Black Gloves”, or “Television Saved My Life”. Wish someone would remaster the Artifact and Desertion compliations.

Thanks for the great music. Have a good rest of your week.

  21. Great show, can you play Lack of Sense by Tribantura? Thanks!

  22. Thank you for another stellar set of dark tunes to usher in the month of October! Many highlights but I will give the slight edge to hour one. And you’ll always have my full fledged support to include Bowie in the mix.

A request for the Halloween show – going punk, not so dark wave but no harm in asking…
Social Distortion – “The Creeps (I Just Wanna Give You)”

    Wishing everyone a good week.

  23. I’d love if you played One cares by Depeche mode someday!

  24. Roger Lodge

I wish everyone would be more thankful of Matt’s work before making requests!

Wire – I am the Fly

  25. Hi Matt, I think this every time your show starts so I might as well tell you: I am so thankful for your work. Nothing matches the artistry, thoughtfulness and passion of dark wave music. And you curate it for us every week. <3

  26. It may be too late to request something. But I would like to suggest that you play something off of the new Chapterhouse White House Demos album thanks.

  27. Ricky Ricky

Hey Matt. Always such a highlight of my week is hearing Dark Wave. And I play it over and over all week. One request
    Chrisma- Black Sillk Stockings
