The Dream Syndicate has been taking this reunion thing a little slowly, only having played one U.S. date since getting back together last fall — an appearance last month at Wilco’s Solid Sound festival in North Adams, Mass. That’s going to change this fall, though, at least for fans in Chicago, who’ll get a chance to see a far more intimate show.
Bandleader Steve Wynn announced on Facebook this week that the Dream Syndicate will perform at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago on Nov. 23. At the moment, it’s the only Dream Syndicate show on the books outside of two appearances in Norway this weekend.
Wynn writes: “North Adams, MA to Norway to Chicago. Some strange but delightful routing.”
The Dream Syndicate — Wynn, original drummer Dennis Duck, bassist Mark Walton (who joined after Medicine Show) and guitarist Jason Victor, who plays in Wynn’s current band, The Miracle 3 — reunited for a short run of dates in Spain last fall, then performed a nine-date European tour last month, plus the festival appearance in Massachusetts.
In an interview last month with Slicing Up Eyeballs, Wynn said he’s considering making a new album that bridges the gap between 1982′s The Days of Wine and Roses and 1984′s Medicine Show.
The Dream Syndicate tour dates:
June 19: Bukta Fesitval, Tromso, Norway
June 20: Rød Herregård, Halden, Norway
Nov. 23: Old Town School of Folk Music, Chicago, IL, USA

I second that thought. Seattle, please.
Did anyone tell Kendra?
Chicago show was great! 3 hours long with 2 encores. Played all the old faves. The most I rocked out in ages. Shook off a lot of crust.
