The Sisters of Mercy’s 30th anniversary tour enters its second year with the band’s first-ever trip to New Zealand and Australia — where the goth-rockers will play the Soundwave Festival, making up for their slot on last year’s failed Soundwave Revolution spinoff — as well as a short run of dates in South America and Mexico.
Andrew Eldritch, Doktor Avalanche and the rest of the group will open their trip Down Under with a Feb. 22 show in Auckland, N.Z., before playing five Australian dates as part of Soundwave, with two additional shows booked in Melbourne. After that, the band heads to South America for two shows in Brazil and a concert in Argentina, plus one date in Mexico City.
The Sisters also have confirmed at least one summer date so far: an appearance at the Amphi Festival 2012 in Koln, Germany, on July 21.
