“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

    Great show Matt

  15. “Set me on fire, Kerosene!” Thank you Mr. Albini, we can never have too much Big Black. And thank you for playing my New Order request, I love that one. Also enjoyed hearing Loop in the always welcome shoegaze block, super underrated band. MBM and ACR to close hour 2 was supremely groovy.

Matt, you’ve made me find and dust off my old Velocity Girl CDs and I humbly thank you. Might we hear a fave deep cut on a future communion? “A Chang” off their excellent debut album Copacetic.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

    • Nathan, “Kerosene” was my introduction to Big Black (many, many years ago) and it still sounds abrasive and jarring (in the best way).

      • I tried to like Big Black for years. It wasn’t until Matt played “Kerosene” on here some time ago that I decided to give them another try. I have grown to LOVE that song. Whenever it does come on, I turn it way up!

  16. Oh man, excellent choice with the Church’s “Fly”. That whole album is fantastic.

  17. I love me a good shoegaze block! And any show that starts with Clan Of Xymox makes my heart fill with blood. Thanks Matt!

  18. Hello Matt, I would like to request my favorite Alphaville song. Could you play Summer in Berlin from the album Forever Young.

  19. The Stranglers -Midnight Summer Dream( LP version)

  20. Fantastic show last Sunday, I loved the whole show start to finish. I loved to hear The Sound, Loop, Spiritualized, The Church and Catherine Wheel.
Now speaking of Catherine Wheel, I would like to request hearing either “Intravenous”, “Heal” or maybe one of their covers like “ That’s When I Teach For My Revolver” or “30th Century Man” please! Thank you so much for your fantastic radio show!

  21. Siouxsie & The Banshees – Sea Of Light (1991) Apple Music + Qobuz

  22. Hi Matt, could you please play late night on mulberry street by Morrissey? Haven’t heard it in a while. One of my favs. Thanks

  23. Hex: “Ethereal Message” (great Steve Kilbey side project)

  24. As always, a solid set from start to finish. Thank you for playing my request for Spiritualized – a much needed dose of audio Vitamin D to cure my Winter blahs…Other highlights include the shoegaze block, Chris & Cosey, JAMC, NIN, and the cover songs…

A request for a future episode – I’m going to tap into your fondness of cover songs (and my love for Leonard Cohen):
    Ian McCulloch “Lover, Lover, Lover”

    Thank you!

  25. requesting you play Pearly-Dewdrops Drops by Cocteau Twins for our 31st wedding anniversary on 17th March.
it was our 1st dance song :) dedicated to Michael, please.

    • “Red frame, white light!” Great for this to come on while night-driving and I definitely sang along. Thanks for the Spiritualized and loved getting hypnotized by that Meat Beat, more please. Meanwhile, I just started reading “Everything Keeps Dissolving: Conversations with Coil,” and, as always, I blame you for sending me down these rabbit holes!

    • Congrats Renee and Michael, what a GORGEOUS song to share.
