“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  6. Albeit sold out, I got my tickets and fast lane passes for Echo here in Cleveland this June, thanks for playing one of my favorite tracks ever!
How about “Close Your Eyes” from Mysterio

  7. Joy Division – Isolation

  8. Killing Joke – Chessboards

  9. Huge thanks for playing Portishead, brother! I’ve loved “Roads” since Dummy was released, and I’ll concede the live cut packs an emotional punch that somehow alludes the studio version. While on the subject, I’d urge anyone reading this to check out Julia Ducournau’s Alpha when it releases here in the States in a couple months, as “Roads” is used to great effect in the film.

The show on 2/8 will brush up against the anniversary of alt rock pioneer Damo Suzuki’s passing, how about adding Can’s “Vitamin C” to a playlist sometime soon?

Thanks again. Wishing anyone reading this a great week ahead!

  10. Good day from snowy (north) Buffalo…great program this week I absolutely loved hour one especially…great SP track – one of my favs!! I am seeing NIN on February 18th in Hamilton (so glad they’re coming around again so soon the last Toronto show sold out so quickly) and would love to hear — at the show and on DW — Head Down.

Thank you for all you do! Cheers!! 。◕‿◕。

  11. Great show so many good songs like 1919 – Dream and loved the David Bowie song – I can’t give it .
I have a request for House of Love – I don’t know why I love you or English Beat – Mirror in the bathroom.

  12. Splendid show! Anytime we get what I call the darkwave holy trifecta (Tones on Tail, L&R, Bauhaus) in the same show, it’s a good night. Thank you for playing my Thrill Kill Kult request. They’re coming around to the bay in March, looking forward to it. But I gotta give hour 3 the win. Loved hearing Portishead and Adorable on the show, that was great. Ultra Vivid Scene into Luna was quite lovely as well, thanks for that.

How about some Belgian coldwave on a future communion? “Moans” by Parade Ground.

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  13. hi matt, congratulations on the incredible darwaves song selections each week. I have been listening religiously to the broadcast for several months, the volume in the background. you often make us discover incredible songs that are often underestimated songs. I would like to make a request if you like it: Clan of Xymox (a day) or (Muscoviet Musquito) or OMD (Messages). Thank you Matt

  14. This Is Fascism by Consolidated

  15. Cabaret Voltaire Don’t Argue extended mix .

  16. Hello Matt, can you please play “Unveiling the Secret” by Psyche? Thanks!

  17. A fine show indeed. I was happy to hear Ivo by Cocteau Twins! Speaking of the twins, I humbly request Summerhead from the Four Calendar Cafe album.
