“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).

The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.

Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

  4. Happy new year!
I really dug your covers show, how about Coil’s cover of “Who by Fire?”

  5. Great show! Hearing the Chickasaw Mudd Puppies was a welcome surprise!

As an aside, “Sister Europe” is such an underrated track by the Furs.

On 1/11, that week’s edition will coincide with my birthday. This might be cutting it close, but I’d like to request “Roads” by Portishead.

Have a great week ahead, everyone! We made it through a turbulent 2025. Cheers.

  6. Great show! Thank you for giving Throwing Muses’ Hunkpapa a lot of play recently. It’s one of my favorite albums. Also loved hearing Tonya Donnelly’s cover of Shoplifters of the World Unite.

  7. Matt… thank you for honouring a request of mine earlier this year (B-MOVIE… nowhere girl… original version).

Just wanted to say… Great job this year. Have an awesome 2026. I look forward to your next shows…

  8. Hey Matt, this was an excellent last show for 2025.
One really good cover song that The Cure did was Purple Haze around 93/94. Maybe you could play that sometime in the future months.
    See you next week!
