Bauhaus
“Dark Wave,” hosted by Slicing Up Eyeballs’ Matt Sebastian, explores the darker side of classic ’80s alternative, including vintage goth, post-punk and industrial. The shows airs at 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern every Sunday on Sirius XM satellite radio’s 1st Wave (Channel 33).
The most recent two episodes are also available to subscribers to stream via the Sirius XM app.
Got a request? Requests will be considered for future episodes as long as they fit the show’s format and fall generally within the 1st Wave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song. If there’s something you’d like to hear, drop it in the comments below.

Man, you play fabulous music. Over the Shoulder is my favorite Ministry and thank you for the Joy Division. TKK is always a welcome addition to the evening. Sometimes, you just need an uplifting staple, so may we hear :
Tones on Tail – Go!
Thank you for doing the Lord’s work.

Cool episode. I have a few requests in honor of David Lynch.
Falling – Julee Cruise
Pixies – In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song) [John Peel Session, 1988]
Song to the Siren – This Mortal Coil
I second this!!!!
Thirded!
Yes, yes and yes!
Maybe Matt can play all 3
Definitely should do a David Lynch tribute.
There are lots of good choices from the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me soundtrack. Thanks
All of this….. especially Falling love that one!!!
Hard to call a particular hour this week. Little pockets of great cuts all over. Favorites were Simple Minds, Trash Can Sinatras, Abecederians, and Kate Bush. Great show.
Like Jonathan, I’d like to request something for the late Mr. Lynch. How about NIN “Perfect Drug” on an upcoming episode please? Unless you want to play Chris Isaak. Yeah, didn’t think so.
Thanks for the music. Have a good week.
Next week can you dig out
Joy Division Sound Of Music (Peel Sessions Version)
Modern English – Carry Me Down
XTC – Deliver Us To The Elements
Shriekback – Hammerheads
Depeche Mode – Fly To the windscreen (Extended Version)

Great show as always. I turned 43 on Dec. 27, and I have a belated birthday request for a future show.
End of Your Garden – “A Displaced House in the North”
Please and thank you as always!
How about “Only A Shadow” by The Cleaners From Venus?
Hi Matt – love the show! Some real greats tonight. I want to request “Song of the Siren” by This Mortal Coil in memory of David Lynch, who I am sure you know passed away this past week. Lynch loved this song and wanted it in Blue Velvet, but could not get clearance. This resulted in him and Angelo Badalamenti writing a song for Julee Cruise to sing instead, “Mysteries of Love.” That kicked off her career. Lynch later got permission to use it in Lost Highway.
He was a singularly unique artist, and the world was gifted by his presence. Thanks.
Enjoyed all the darkness in this week’s episode.
Here are some requests –
Morrissey – Spring-Heeled Jim
For Against – Over Nepal
Thanks!
The passing of David Lynch last Thursday struck a very deep chord within me. I felt the same when Bowie passed. Two singular artists who changed the world for the better and made a powerful impact on my life, in particular introducing me to the beauty of transcendental meditation . I share the sentiments of others above. There are so many amazing songs to choose from that would honor his memory. I will throw “I’m Deranged” off the incredible Lost Highway soundtrack into the request mill. The Wedding Present also did an incredible cover version of “Falling.” And “The World Spins” by Julee Cruise gets my vote for most beautiful Lynch and Badalamenti composition.
Last night’s show was a much needed respite, stellar from start to finish. And thanks for playing my Fall request, that was a great post punk double whammy.
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
Cowboy Junkies – Seventeen Seconds (Cure Cover)
Thanks for playing my request (Diary of a Young Man – Television Personalities) – another good show!
-Tony from Boston
She Past Away – Kasvetli Kutlama
Also, we absolutely need that David Lynch themed block. Plenty of great options already suggested, could add in Bowie’s I’m Deranged.
Love She Past Away good call!
Great Show as always. Could you play:
All the King’s Men by Pleasure Zone
It’s my birthday this weekend, thanks as always! I never miss a show.
Jameson
New Jersey
Great work this week Matt. I would like to hear Delicious – Catherine Wheel.
Wowza what a show this week holy cow! I loved every song – thank you for playing my Placebo and Depeche Mode requests!!! It is most appreciated! Some possible suggestions for next time:
The Chameleons – One Flesh (2014 Remaster)
The Sisters of Mercy – On The Wire
The Mission – Tower of Strength
Thanks again as always!! 。◕‿◕。
Sorry meant to post (above) Sisters of Mercy – Vision Thing
Duh you just played On The Wire…..need more coffee!!!
Lovely episode, thanks for playing that Simple Minds track! Boneshaker Baby sure rocks, and that JAMC mix… weird in a very good way. I appreciate the reminder that i need to dive into Executive Slacks’ catalog. Great stuff.
For a future episode, how about anything off Technique?? All New Order is great New Order (barring World in Motion? Nah, I’ve got a soft spot for that one too) but Technique is their pinnacle IMO.
Thanks Matt!
Anne Clark – Poem for a Nuclear Romance (1983) Apple Music + Qobuz
Clair Obscur – Toundra (198?) https://clairobscur.bandcamp.com/album/c-o-i-t-part-one-1981-1983
“Last Night I Fell Again” by Moose is a stellar track for any future shoegaze block. If you could please fit it into one. Also I strongly agree with all of the requests for songs in honor of David Lynch.
My pick to honor David Lynch would be either Tuxedomoon’s or The Pixies version of “In Heaven” either would do just fine
R.I.P Lynch, thanks for so many great movies. And Thank you Matt.
Moose are super underrated. And a review of one of their early gigs is where the term shoegaze was first coined. Great call Will!
Heck yeah, Moose! I’ll third this excellent request.
Bauhaus also did a great cover of “In Heaven.” They played it live on the 83 tour and released it on the Rest in Peace: The Final Concert album.
Dude…another great set & Exec Slacks, Bowie Blackstar…what!I gotta go with that and request:
In and Out-Executive Slacks
Sue( or in a season of crime)-David Bowie
This is Not The End-Agent Orange
Thanx again
Thank you for including (and closing with) my Bowie request – it’s so appreciated. It was another excellent installment of the dark stuff with New Order, JAMC, and Alien Sex Fiend being a few of my favorites.
And I love reading all the comments and requests related to David Lynch – count me in amongst all those wonderful requests!
I know i’m super late to the game for requests and I am sure that you have already made the show for tomorrow. But I thought I would try anyway, and i’m sure if you can’t put it in the show for tomorrow that you could for a future one. So anyway enough ranting I was recently rewatching Twin Peaks in honor of David Lynch’s passing and for some weird reason I thought that Galaxie 500 would be a good companion band while watching it. So I put on This Is Our Music and I know it’s weird but I thought it really fit well. So anyway if you could play anything off of This is Our Music ( especially “Spook” or “Summertime”) that would be awesome. That is my odd David Lynch memorial show request. Sorry for the long explanation. I just had to put it in perspective. Also really great choices by Simple Minds, The Jesus And Mary Chain, T.V Personalities and The Wedding Present.
So I have never requested a cover song until now. The Rose of Alvanche does a kick ass version of Bela Lagosi’s dead.
If you can find it it is worth it!
Please play!
I was so sad to hear of the death of Dylan Thomas. Although I’ve never met them, I have a funny story regarding the band. I went to a show at the Limelight in NYC in the late 90s Chemlab was opening for KMFDM. I entered the mosh pit during Chemlab and I got punched in the face. It was the only time I was ever injured in a pit. Since you played Chemlab, can you play some KMFDM?
Loved that KMFDM into CCCP, Test Dept., Ministry. I am going to listen to more CCCP and Test Department.
