Peter Murphy’s first 5 albums to be complied in appropriately named ‘5 Albums’ box set

Beggars Arkive this month resurrects its 5 Albums box set series with a new Peter Murphy title that collects his first five solo albums — 1986’s Should the World Fail to Fall Apart, 1988’s Love Hysteria, 1989’s Deep, 1992’s Holy Smoke and 1995’s Cascade — along with bonus tracks.

The 5 Albums series previously compiled records by Love and Rockets, Gary Numan, Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilm and more.  The new Peter Murphy set comes in a hardcover book — rather than the smaller CD-sized boxes used in the past — and each album is fleshed out with period rarities, including original demos, single B-sides, early and alternate mixes. It’s due out June 22.

The release comes as Murphy prepares to play his twice-rescheduled San Francisco residency, including dates with former Bauhaus bandmate David J.
