Four years since retiring the live incarnation of Nine Inch Nails, frontman Trent Reznor this morning announced he is resurrecting the band with a new lineup that includes King Crimson guitar whiz Adrian Belew and former Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery, and will mount a U.S. arena tour this fall and dates worldwide in 2014.

Alison Moyet today announced an extensive, 24-date tour of the U.K. and Ireland this fall in support of her upcoming album ‘the minutes’ — that’s the just-revealed cover art posted above — and said the concerts will place the new album “center stage” and focus on “significant electronic material in her back catalog.”

This week sees the publication of a revised edition of Simon Goddard’s “Songs That Saved Your Life: The Art of The Smiths 1982-87” — which tells the stories behind every song from The Smiths’ catalog — and to mark the occasion Titan Books has hooked us up with copies to award three lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs readers.

Occultation Recordings is planning deluxe vinyl reissues of The Wild Swans’ third album, 2011’s The Coldest Winter For A Hundred Years, and a 2003 compilation of ’80s radio sessions, demos and rarities called Incandescent — but first the label is taking the unusual step of asking fans what they’d like to see included.

This week’s new releases include brand-new albums from Johnny Marr (‘The Messenger’), KMFDM (‘Kunst’) and John Foxx (‘Evidence’), plus reissues from Fine Young Cannibals, The Blue Aeroplanes and The Sound, as well as best-ofs from Kirsty MacColl and The Human League.
