The Pet Shop Boys today revealed that the final mix of their new Stuart Price-produced album Electric is due to be finished by week’s end and that full details of the record, including the final tracklist and release date, are scheduled to be announced next Tuesday — along with the duo’s full North American tour itinerary.
In March, the Pet Shop Boys surprised fans with news they already were nearing completion on the follow-up to 2012’s Elysium. Not much is known yet about the new album, aside from a 44-second promo video that hints at a far more dancefloor-friendly affair than the relatively downbeat Elysium. Also, the record will include a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Last to Die.”
Watch for full details on the release and tour next week.
