Rhino Records will follow up its 2010 Record Store Day limited-edition Factory Records sampler with a second 10-inch label sampler for this year’s event: a 4-track EP that will feature one song each from Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays and The Durutti Column, according to Wax Poetic, which tracks Record Store Day exclusives.
Unlike the 2010 Record Store Day sampler, this year’s will be available in the U.S., but is limited to a total of 3,000 copies worldwide. The EP features Joy Division’s “She’s Lost Control,” New Order’s “1963” (12-Inch Remastered Version), The Durutti Column’s “Otis” and Happy Mondays’ “Loose Fit” (12-Inch Verison).
This year’s Record Store Day falls on April 20, and while the full list of exclusives has not yet been posted, the blog Wax Poetic has amassed an impressive list of confirmed U.S. releases. Among this year’s U.S. and/or U.K. titles are releases from The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Cure, The Glove, Echo & The Bunnymen, Hüsker Dü, Robyn Hitchcock, Paul Weller, Wire and Duran Duran (see links below).
