BACKSTORY: More than a year after the death of former Japan bassist Mick Karn, the Dalis Car EP he recorded with Peter Murphy in the fall of 2010 has now been released. The five-track collection represents the briefly reunited duo’s first work together since their lone album, The Waking Hour, came out in 1984.

BACKSTORY: The British singer-songwriter, who recorded for the famed Factory Records in the early ’80s, returns this week with a new eight-song studio album on Peter Hook’s Hacienda Records. The album, recorded in December and January, features tracks such as “French Jazz Station,” “Now Is Then” and “FAC 501.”
