BACKSTORY: The full Oct. 31, 1991, concert that is included in the super-deluxe version of the Nevermind reissue also is being released separately this week on DVD and Blu-ray. The DVD is a general release, but the Blu-ray will be sold exclusively through Best Buy until Dec. 27. The film features performances of “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “About a Boy” and more. BACKSTORY: The venerable synthpop duo this week releases in the U.K. the first single off its upcoming album Tomorrow’s World. The five-track CD single includes four mixes of the song and a cover of the theme music to the U.K. television series “Tomorrow’s World,” which inspired the title of the album. BACKSTORY: The former Paisley Underground act — featuring original members Susanna Hoffs, Debbi Peterson and Vicki Peterson — returns this week with its first new album in eight years, a 12-track effort featuring songs such as “I’ll Never Be Through With You,” and “Sweet and Tender Romance.”
