After spending much of last fall and this past spring touring Europe, former Commotions leader Lloyd Cole finally is ready to support 2010’s Broken Record in the United States, and has begun announcing dates for a June tour — with nine on the books so far, all in the eastern part of the country.
Cole, who has been announcing the dates in spurts on his Facebook page, will start the trek June 11 in New York City, and currently is slated to wrap up on June 24 in Chicago (see dates below). As he did on his recent overseas tours, Cole will perform with his Small Ensemble bluegrass trio, which also features Mark Schwaber on acoustic guitar and mandolin, and Matt Cullen on banjo and acoustic guitar.
The singer-songwriter released the 11-track album last fall on Tapete Records; it is his first record since 2006’s Antidepressant and his first full-band album in a decade.
