The members of INXS tonight debuted the first track off their upcoming album of re-imagined hits, a new arrangement of Kick smash “Never Tear Us Apart” with Ben Harper filling in on lead vocals for the late Michael Hutchence. The track — now streaming on the band’s official site — is set to appear on the yet-to-be-titled disc, expected out later this year with Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas and The Killers’ Brandon Flowers also taking the mic. The album will be INXS’ first since 2005’s Switch.
