The R.E.M. concert documentary “This Is Not a Show: Live at the Olympia in Dublin” — which is included in the 2CD/1DVD editions of the band’s new live album, Live at the Olympia — will make its television debut at 9 p.m. EST Dec. 28 on the Sundance Channel, according to a recent post on the band’s official site (although that’s not reflected in the cable network’s listings).
Directed by Vincent Moon and Jeremiah, the film (see preview above), like the live album, was culled from five nights of “working rehearsals” that Michael Stipe and Co. held at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre during June and July of 2007 to road-test new songs prior to recording Accelerate, which came out the following year.
More details about Live at the Olympia and the album’s full tracklisting are available here.
