Three years ago, we reported on plans to release a fan-produced concert film documenting Nine Inch Nails’ purportedly final concert: a monster 3.5-hour, 37-song set performed Sept. 10, 2009, at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theatre. Now, with Trent Reznor having just announced plans to resurrect NIN, the film is here for your streaming and/or downloading pleasure.
This week, a tiny little dot released the product of more than 5,000 hours of work, the crowdsourced film nine inch nails: [after all is said and done], which brings together 27 unique fan-shot HD footage sources to present the full, intimate, would-be farewell concert — the last stop on NIN’s 2009 “Wave Goodbye” tour.
The epic show includes two Joy Division covers, three Gary Numan covers (with Numan himself joining in) and appearances by Mike Garson (who played on David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane and NIN’s The Fragile), producer Atticus Ross, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and Dillinger Escape Plan.
You can watch the complete film via the playlist above, or download the files for free.
