For this week’s installment of Vintage Video, we flash back to 1985 for this great German TV broadcast of a 40-minute performance in Munich by Lloyd Cole & The Commotions, filmed about five months after the band’s classic debut Rattlesnakes was released (footage posted above via Manu Guinarte).
The set, naturally, is heavy on that album, but does include “Brand New Friend,” which would be the lead single off the Commotions’ second album, Easy Pieces, which arrived later that year. Check out the full setlist reprinted below.
Cole currently is finishing up a new album that finds him reuniting part of the team behind his 1990 self-titled solo debut, the so-called “X” album.
