We’re still two months away from the arrival of Erasure’s 16th studio album, The Violet Flame, but the duo has just offered up the first taste of the record in the form of first single “Elevation,” which you can stream here. Vince Clarke and Andy Bell also revealed the full tracklist for the album,

Erasure today announce the release of its 16th studio album this fall, a 10-track record titled The Violet Flame that will be followed by a massive 58-date world tour that will mostly see Andy Bell and Vince Clarke play venues in the U.S. and U.K. between mid-September and the end of 2014.

Erasure has unveiled both the tracklisting for its upcoming holiday album Snow Globe and detailed plans to offer fans a deluxe 3CD box set of the album that will include a second disc of alternate versions and some Christmas classics not on the record itself, plus a recording of the duo’s Christmas radio show.

Synthpop duo Erasure will get festive this fall with a brand-new holiday album called Snow Globe that will include both original compositions and “seasonal classics” — a collection that singer Andy Bell says led him to rediscover his “inner choirboy.” The album is set to be released Nov. 11.

In an effort to create a synthesizer version of the ever-popular air guitar, Erasure’s Vince Clarke is asking fans to enter his First International Synth Gurning Competition by filming themselves making synth sounds with their mouths “whilst pulling a funny face.” To help get things started, he’s offered up his own video.

Vince Clarke — he of Erasure, and former stints in Depeche Mode and Yazoo, of course — has been playing the occasional DJ set of late, and he’s got another one booked for June 22 at Velvet Underground in Toronto.
