Steve Strange, frontman of ‘Fade to Grey’ hitmakers Visage and founder of the New Romantic hub The Blitz in London, is gearing up for a busy 2012, with a debut album due next month from electronic dance project Detroit Starzz and plans for a fourth Visage album — that group’s first in 28 years — to be released in May.

This week’s new releases include Trent Reznor’s score for ‘The Social Network,’ a super-limited 12-inch from The Cult, the U.S. editions of Duran Duran’s ‘Notorious’ and ‘Big Thing’ reissues, a disc of Suzanne Vega acoustic re-recordings, and a CD/DVD of film soundtrack work from John Foxx.

The first two solo albums by former Ultravox frontman Midge Ure — 1985’s ‘The Gift’ and 1988’s ‘Answers to Nothing’ — are set to be reissued next month in expanded 2CD editions, each featuring digitally remastered versions of the original albums and a full contingent of B-sides, mixes and live tracks, some of which are previously unreleased.

This week’s new releases include ‘Mondo Cane,’ the new solo album from Faith No More’s Mike Patton; ‘Death Trip,’ the 13th studio album from goth mainstays Alien Sex Fiend; and ‘Metatronic,’ the 2CD/1DVD career retrospective from synthpop pioneer John Foxx.
