While U2 hasn’t yet unveiled the tracklist for its next fanclub CD, called ‘U2: Duals,’ the band today offered U2.com members a sneak peak in the form of ‘Amazing Grace/Where the Streets Have No Name,’ a track featuring Bono and Co. and the Soweto Gospel Choir that was created last summer for the World Cup. This week’s new CDs include a huge new box set from Orange Juice, plus reissues from XTC, Nine Inch Nails, Heaven 17, Robyn Hitchcock and The Fall, as well as the U.S. release of Killing Joke’s new album and a special U2 EP tied to Record Store Day.

U2 is set to release a new limited-edition, vinyl-only live EP next month called ‘Wide Awake in Europe’ — adapting the title and cover concept from 1985’s ‘Wide Awake in America’ — that will feature the debut of fan-favorite track ‘Mercy.’

Tonight in San Sebastian, Spain, U2 dusted off fan favorite “Spanish Eyes” — the B-side to “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” — for the first time since 2001, and only the third time since ‘The Joshua Tree’ tour in 1987.

It’s long been expected that the next installment in U2’s ongoing reissue campaign would be the band’s landmark 1991 album ‘Achtung Baby,’ and today we received some confirmation — via indie rocker/producer John Vanderslice, of all people — that such a release is in the works.
