Video: Dinosaur Jr plays with members of The Smiths, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Replacements

Last night at New York City’s Terminal 5, the reunited Dinosaur Jr celebrated the 25th anniversary of You’re Living All Over Me by playing the 1987 album in its entirety and then enlisting members of The Smiths, Pixies, Sonic Youth, The Replacements and The Melvins to help blast through a second, career-spanning set.

Johnny Marr today premiered the first song off his forthcoming solo record The Messenger by releasing a starkly black-and-white video for the album’s hypnotic title track — which you can watch right here. The album, written and produced by the former Smiths guitarist, who also handles vocal duties, is due out Feb. 26.

Early next year, though, he’ll finally release his first proper album under his own name.
