The Jesus and Mary Chain’s six studio albums will be reissued this fall in expanded 2CD/1DVD packages that include B-sides, live sessions, TV appearances and rare material such as rejected early B-side ‘Jesus Fuck’ and a newly discovered recording of ‘Darklands’ with an added string section.

This week’s new releases include ‘Move Like This,’ the first new album from The Cars in 24 years; ‘Upside Down: The Creation Records Story’ on DVD and Blu-ray, plus a 2CD soundtrack; vinyl reissues of The Jesus and Mary Chain’s ‘Automatic’ and ‘Honey’s Dead’; and budget-priced The The and Psychedelic Furs best-ofs.

Since the announcement last month that MTV plans to revive its ‘120 Minutes’ franchise as both a new monthly TV show and a quick-hit web series, the music-averse network has begun populating its MTV Hive website with performances by the likes of The Cure, Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain and World Party.

With the long-awaited ‘Upside Down: The Creation Records Story’ making its North American debut last night at South By Southwest, the documentary’s makers have issued a new trailer for the film — now set for DVD/Blu-ray release in the U.K. on May 9.

Next month, Los Angeles’ Dum Dum Girls — equal parts The Ronettes and The Jesus and Mary Chain — will follow up their 2010 Sub Pop debut with a four-track EP called He Gets Me High that includes a blissfully fuzzed-out cover of The Smiths high-water mark ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes’ Out.” T
